At first, that attention was mostly directed towards things made by hand. I was interested in the time a piece needed, in the details that could not be rushed, and in the difference between something that was merely finished and something that had been properly considered.

Over time, I realised that I approached other kinds of work in much the same way.

Whenever something felt unnecessarily complicated, impersonal or incomplete, I found myself wanting to understand why. Sometimes the problem was small. Sometimes it was simply a process that could have been clearer, a tool that could have worked better, or an experience that felt as though an important detail had been overlooked.

That is where GOGOLI began to grow beyond handmade work.

It was not a deliberate decision to build several different projects under one name. The projects came gradually, and for different reasons. Some grew out of making. Others came from problems I kept noticing and could not quite leave alone.

GOGOLI Handmade, GOGOLI Reviews and GOGOLI Kit may look very different from one another, and in practical terms they are. They do not belong to the same category, and I do not expect them to.

What connects them is something quieter.

It is the attention given to how something is made, how well it works, how it feels to use, and whether every part of it has a reason to be there.

With Handmade, that attention is visible in material, proportion, construction and the time each piece is allowed to take.

With Reviews and Kit, the form is different, but the instinct is much the same. I am still looking closely at how something works, where it becomes unnecessarily difficult, and whether it can be made clearer, more useful or more thoughtful.

I have never been very interested in creating something simply because it is possible to create it. I would rather wait until an idea has a reason to exist.

Sometimes that reason is practical. Sometimes it begins with a small frustration. Sometimes it comes from noticing that something almost works, but not quite.

Not every idea needs to become a project, and not every project needs to grow quickly.

Some things need time before their shape becomes clear. Some need to be tested. Some are better left alone until there is a real reason to continue with them.

I have come to value that part of the process as much as making itself.

GOGOLI is the place where I give those ideas room to develop without asking them to become the same kind of thing.

That is why a handmade textile can sit beside a digital tool, or a review system beside something made slowly by hand, without feeling unrelated to me.

What matters is not that they look alike.

What matters is that they are approached with the same care.

I expect GOGOLI will continue to grow in directions that are not always obvious from the outside. I am comfortable with that. I would rather allow each project to become what it needs to be than make everything fit neatly into one category.

As long as there is a clear reason for it to exist, and enough care in the way it is made or built, it belongs here.

I think that is how GOGOLI is meant to grow.
